Strawberry Greetings

Are you having summer-like weather where you are? We are setting record highs here! It's nice, but I hope we do get to have a little bit of spring before summer is here to stay. Cool weather with thunderstorms is my favorite time of year.
Supplies Used: Strawberry Greetings (Unity Stamp Co.), Kraft paper (The Paper Studio), Patterned Paper (Basic Grey Nook & Pantry), Ribbon (May Arts), Embossing folder (Dots, Sizzix), Black ink (Memento Tuxedo Black)

Life's Too Short

I love this Itty Bitty from Unity Stamp Co. Life's too short to match socks! I think instead of matching socks, we should all craft instead! I'm going to try and make a better effort to not only craft, but to blog more too. I really enjoy sharing my creations. And I have about 100 things that I've been thinking of that I would like to make/do. Anyway, on to the card!
Supplies Used: Unity Stamp Co., Jillibean Soup (Blossom Soup) patterned paper, May Arts ribbon, Circle Nestabilities, Sizzix Dots embossing folder

No Butts About It...

I've been gone for awhile, I know. Last week I went to the One of a Kind Rubber Stamp and Scrapbook Show. It has been awhile since I have done much of anything crafty, and my husband thought it would be good to go. Maybe spark a little creativity. Apparently he is in need of some cards to send out. :) I bought these adorable stamps and scalloped circle cards from the show.
Supplies Used: Stamps (Inky Antics), Cardstock (The Paper Cut), Ribbon (May Arts), Embossing Folder (Sizzix Dots), Markers (Bic)
Supplies Used: Stamps (Inky Antics), Patterned Paper (October Afternoon), Cardstock (The Paper Cut), Markers (Bic)
Supplies Used: Stamps (Inky Antics), Cardstock (The Paper Cut), Ribbon (May Arts), FlowerSoft (Toffee), Watercolor Pencils (Stampin' Up)
Thanks to everybody who has stuck with me and my blog. It is going to be sporadic for awhile yet, but will hopefully be back to creating and blogging soon!

Recipes...

Do your recipes look as bad as mine? All piled up in a heap? Crusty and gross from sitting on the counter? They were driving me a little crazy (some may say that I'm OCD. It's not true. I'm just particular. There's a difference. I think.) So I decided to do something about it. I have been working on a recipe book. I am making the pages 8x8 and printing out the recipe. Then in true scrapbooker style -- adding a little patterned paper and embellishment. Now these should be a little more organized and kept a little cleaner. Only problem is that I haven't been able to find an 8x8 scrapbook with rings. So here's one of my favorite recipes. Chicken Parmigiana for 2.
Supplies Used: Comso Cricket (Garden Variety), May Arts ribbon

Another Mother's Day....

With Mother's Day right around the corner, I have been working on getting some cards made. When I was growing up, my dad would always get his mom something. Whenever somebody would ask him what he got his wife (my mom), his response would be -- why would I get her something, she's not my mom? So to me, it also seemed normal that you just got something for your own mom. What I've learned is that my dad is the exception, not the rule. There are many people that send Mother's Day cards to everybody -- aunts, Grandma's, Godmothers, and so on. I know this because my husband is one of those people. :) So here is another Mother's Day card that I made. This one uses CPS Sketch #216.
Supplies Used: Blooming with Love (Stampin' Up), October Afternoon 5 & Dime patterned paper, Circle and rectangle Nestabilites, May Art ribbon
So, whether you celebrate just your mom or all the moms, I hope everybody has a great day...and I'm sure I'll be back to share another Mother's Day card soon!

Beautiful Balloons {and a winner}

I made two very simple cards for the Beautiful Balloon challenge over at Moxie Fab World. I used the hot air balloon from the Unity Stamp Co. Love in the Air set and the cloud paper is from the Basic Grey Mellow collection.

And the winner from my blog candy is Marcy H. (My Angel). Email me your address at katytipton at yahoo dot com and I'll send you the stamp.

Let's Hang Out

Well, I didn't make anything yet...but I have a card that I made a little while ago that I still need to share. I had fun paper piecing the tiny little clothes on the clothesline. These stamps are from one of my favorite kit of the months, Perfect in Every Way. I don't get the kotm anymore, but this month's looks so cute and is a little tempting!

Supplies Used: Unity Stamp Co (perfect in every way), Jillibean Soup (Egg Drop Soup), Nestabilities (Scalloped Rectangle), Fiskars Border Punch (Threading Water), May Art ribbon

Button It Up! (FWF)

Good morning! It's been awhile since I've been a part of the FWF hop. Today I made a card using the CardPatterns sketch #109. I kind of veered away from the sketch a little bit, but it's where I got my inspiration from.

Supplies Used: Bella Blvd. Calendar Month, Jillibean Soup Egg Drop Soup Patterned Paper, lots and lots of buttons, May Arts ribbon

You can find lots of Unity Stamps here, at {i heart papers}.
Thanks for stopping by my blog today on the FWF hop! You can go back to the Unity blog to continue on your hop. Also, if you are interested in learning more about my "new-ish" blog and winning an Itty Bitty stamp, see this post.

What's Shakin'?

How cute are these salt and pepper shakers?? Another perfect Valentine card! I made this card using the CardPatterns sketch #101. I've been on a roll with these challenges this past week! My blogging will probably slow down again here pretty soon because I have some sewing projects that I have to get done for a birthday gift. You'll get to see those soon too, though. :)

Supplies Used: Rubber Stamps (Unity What's Shakin'?), Patterned Paper (Melissa Francis Kitschy Kitchen), Accessories (May Arts ribbon, Making Memories brads, Nestabilities rectangle and scalloped rectangle)

Happy 2011!

Have you all recovered from your exciting New Year's Eve parties? Jon and I ordered pizza, stayed up until midnight, and headed to bed. Wild, I know! :) So here is a card that I made for the CPS challenge. We could pick any sketch we wanted from 2010. I chose sketch #163.

A Little Sketchy

Today I have two cards to share with you. The first one is for the Limelight Papercrafts sketch and product challenge. The product we had to use was shimmer. I used glitter on the snowflakes, which I stamped onto a Jillibean Soup Sprout.

If you haven't heard, Limelight is closing it's doors. Sad for us, but great news for Mandy! Lucky for me, I have a LSS, so I will somehow survive. Thanks Mandy for the great customer service! I always ordered from her because she would include a cute little handmade note just to say thank you.

Okay, on to the second card. This is for the CardPatterns sketch. I am loving the Mitten Weather paper from Cosmo Cricket -- are you sick of it yet? :)

Lastly, this is your last reminder for the blog candy a few posts down!

Christmas Hope

Happy Blizzard Weather! And I'm not talking about the delicious treat from Dairy Queen either. It's a blizzard here in Wisconsin, so I spent my day working on Christmas cards (and not getting very many done either...whoops). Here is a card I made for the caardvarks challenge to make a monochromatic card. This is the last caardvarks challenge. It was one of my favorite challenge blogs, so I am disappointed to see them go, but I'm sure it's a lot of work.

Supplies Used: Patterned Paper (Cosmo Cricket Mitten Weather), Cardstock (SU Riding Hood Red), Ribbon (May Arts), Die Cut (Nestabilities Labels One), Rubber Stamps (Unity Snowflakes Fall from Heaven, Taylored Expressions Christmas Blessings)

So what is one of your favorite blogs to visit for challenges? This weekend is the last chance to enter a comment for my blog candy. Stay warm!

My Blood is too Thin

I grew up in Michigan. Lived there my entire life. I attended college in Illinois. I know what cold is. I know about snow. About 5 years ago, my husband and I packed up and moved to Kansas City so he could go to school. I enjoyed the "not so bad" winters...Some ice and snow now and then. I hated driving there when there was snow or ice on the ground though because Kansas City drivers are well...interesting. One day on the way to work, I saw a man half hanging out of his window scraping his windshield WHILE DRIVING. Point proven.
However, something happened when I moved there. My Michigan blood apparently thinned out a bit. Because now we live in Wisconsin and I am COLD! And tonight, it snowed. I maybe, possibly, almost for sure, cried a little bit. Maybe not on the outside, but on the inside for sure. Last night I told Jon that the clouds looked like "snow clouds." Apparently, I haven't lost my knowledge of snow, just the thick blood that is needed to deal with it. HA! So, to "celebrate" the cold, I have two Christmas cards to share. I used the Hip Hop sketch from Unity Stamps -- even though only one card has a Unity stamp. I am actually lacking in Christmas stamps from Unity.
This card uses Cosmo Cricket's Mitten Weather paper, Taylored Expressions stamp, May Arts ribbon, and the snowflake/flower is actually made with a Quickutz Christmas Tree die.
This one also uses Mitten Weather and May Arts ribbon, Unity Stamps, Nestabilities Label One Die, and Sizzix Dots embossing folder.

A Fall Card on a Springy Day

It is a beautiful day here in Wisconsin! 63 degrees and sunny. It was a perfect day to do a little yard work. My project that I'm working on is to transform this patio area behind our house:

into something a little more "open" feeling. So I dug up all the flowers and herb plants. I dug up weeds. I dug up a tree that was going to start growing underneath the foundation of the garage if it didn't get moved (and by I, in this case I mean, Jon). And this is what I have now:

I would like to tell you that no plants were harmed in this process...but I'm not sure I can say that. I can say that no plants were intentionally harmed though. :) And they were all given away to good homes, so no worries there. I planted some tulips and crocus bulbs. I really want daffodils but can't find them anywhere. Now comes the hard part...waiting for spring! I'm crossing my fingers that it looks pretty. :) Either way, I think it looks a lot more open.

Okay, now for the reason you came to my blog. My card. This was for the Limelight sketch challenge and the focus was to use Halloween or fall colors.
I hope everybody has a safe and enjoyable Halloween! We are doing Trunk-or-Treat at our church, so we will be decorating our car trunk tomorrow and passing out candy to the kids in the neighborhood. (If you're in Baraboo come on by!) It's my favorite Halloween thing to do (well besides eating the candy that I'm supposed to be passing out! HA!)

Hello...Is This Thing On?

Happy Friday! I was in the middle of showing you all the cards that I made for the Unity World Card Making Day challenges and I just disappeared. Oops. So, back to our regularly scheduled programming! First up is the card that won. Whoo-hoo! I won the one-layer challenge (which is to create a card that has no layers of cardstock).
I used the Moments in Bloom kit and some fun ribbon from May Arts. If you look close, you can see I stamped something upside down...I meant to do that -- adds character (not really).

The second card I'm showing you today also uses the Moments in Bloom set and is for the distressed challenge.
And, just to stick with the Moments in Bloom theme I have going on here, this card also uses it and is for the glitter challenge.
I used glitter on the leaves and also FlowerSoft on the flowers.

Thanks for stopping by my blog!

Through Rain or Shine

Yep, you guessed it! It's another card I made for a Unity WCMD challenge. This time the challenge was to paper piece. You all know how much I love paper piecing, right?! I have 4 challenge cards down, which means only 19 to go...and I have 6 days left to do them. Let's take a vote -- do you think I'll make it? LOL! Anyway, on to the card. I used Unity's Rain or Shine Itty Bitty stamp. I paper pieced the image with 3 different patterned papers from Cosmo Cricket Girl Friday.

Just a note: to celebrate 10.10.10, I am having a 10% off sale in my Artfire store today! Click here to see what I have.
