I am so happy to be able to participate in Friends with Flair again. I am back from vacationing and working, and so glad to be back in my own bed!! First up, is my Unity card! This is the first card I made in over two weeks, so it's a little rough--trying to get the mojo flowing again!

So here's the blog candy I've been promising! And it's all a holiday theme! Birthday, Halloween, Christmas, and Thanksgiving! And some super cute Christmas eyelets -- these will make you want to use eyelets again!! So, how do you win this candy? Well, if you're ALREADY my follower, you're entered! If you're not a follower or you're already a follower and want your name entered twice, leave me a comment telling me you're favorite holiday and WHY! I'll give you until Monday to enter. Thanks for coming to my blog and all the great comments. :)

Blog candy is closed. Congrats to Ashley! :)

P.S. This is NOT the Unity sponsored give-away. This is just from me, cleaning out my scrap room. There is still a blinkie out there somewhere!! :)

I'm Baaaaaaaaaaaaaack! (for a day!)

Just a few vacation pictures to share with you. I won't bore you with them all! I'm off to Louisville for work for the next week, so no posts again from me for awhile...
I PROMISE I do have blog candy to give away and will do it when I get back from Kentucky. So be sure to follow me and tell your friends. I want this blog candy to be for my followers, not complete strangers...but if they are your friends, they may be strange, but they aren't strangers! Hehe!

This is the teeny tiny cabin we stayed in. It's SO cute. It was one room, with a kitchenette and bathroom. The bathroom was non-negotiable for me. If Jon wanted me to camp, there WOULD be a bathroom. :)

This was the view...there is a lake there...it's teeny tiny too. It was soggy most of the time we were there.
And since it was soggy, I got to go shopping!! This is from a little store we found outside of Kansas City called Stampers Ink. A store FULL of stamps!! I was like a kid in a candy store. No Unity there though. :( But I found these great new stamps that I've never seen before. They are from Studio 490. I'm mostly excited about the HUGE background stamp. Although I don't have an acrylic block it will fit on...Oops! Also, I got that small set of blocks WITH grids for only $5. :)I'll be back soon....with CANDY! Have a great week!

My Lair...Enter At Your Own Risk

Last year the youth group wanted to make Valentine's cards, so I invited them over. When they came inside one of the girls said, it's like your own little....LAIR! I loved it! So this is my scrapbooking lair and I thought I would share it with you. It's definitely cluttered, but that is because I like to have everything within reach. But I try to keep it an "organized chaos" if you know what I mean! :)
This is some storage that just has my scrapbooks, extra adhesive, and things that I don't use all the time. So they don't need to be in reach. Also, there is one of my ribbon racks.
This is more of my storage. And my spice jars that hold ribbon.
This is one of my most favorite purchases. This ribbon rack is a wire cd rack that we turned sideways. We found it at Menards for $5. All of the "hardware" was missing so it was on clearance. Love good finds like that! Above that is some more ribbon storage. You see that I LOVE my ribbon!
Here is where I actually scrap at. I like having an "L" shape so that everything I need is within reach. I also have a rolling cart that holds some stuff that I use, so when that is next to me, technically I have a "U" shape. :) The two baskets on the end are both full of Unity. There is also a binder next to the baskets that has all my Unity sentiments in it. (you can see it another picture below)
Close up of my wood mounted Unity stamps.
The shelves behind me have my remaining SU! sets that I still occassionaly use. Also there is a microwave cart with my Silhouette and laptop.
This is the table that helps make my "L" shape. It has my trimmer(s), patterned paper, ink pads, and embellishments.
A full view of the stamping space.
My stuff is all hodge-podged together. Jon and I have moved a lot, and sometimes storage in one apartment or house didn't work well in another. So I save it and put it in my lair. That makes everything look different, but it's better then going out and spending money I don't have. I would love to have a room that all matches some day, but for now, this works for me!
Well, hope you enjoyed the tour of my lair! Now it's time to show me yours! Post a link in my comment section to pictures of your special stamping space so I can see! :)

Clean, Graphic...and a Little Boring!

I love clean and graphic cards. But somehow when I make them, they are clean, graphic, and little boring. I tried to bling it up a bit, and that helped a little. This is my last challenge for the Moxie Fab Holiday challenge cards. Get on over there and look at the entries for this challenge and don't forget to try it out yourself!
Supplies Used: Georgia Pacific White CS, Green Galore and Basic Black Classic SU! Ink, Burberry Tree (Unity), Holiday Wishes stamp and DP (SU! Holiday Collection)

Shabby Chic...Vintage...Not Me!

Another holiday challenge at Moxie Fab is to make a project that is vintage and shabby chic. I was going to just skip this challenge because those are two words that do not describe me or my style! But it wouldn't be stretching my style if I didn't try it, and that's the whole point of the challenge! The card is OK. Not very shabby chic, and only a little "vintagey" (yes I make up words), but overall I actually don't HATE it!! Whoo-hoo! :)
Supplies Used: SU! Cardstock and buttons, Jesus Is the Reason and Vintage Ledger stamps (Unity), Pink Paislee and American Crafts Ribbon, Paper Studio red rhinestones, Red Brick and Hint of Pesto VersaMagic Ink, Sizzix Holly & Berries Texture Plate

Cute and Merry Christmas

It's another card for the Moxie Fab Holiday Challenge. This is the card for the Fun & Cute challenge. Get on over to the Moxie Fab blog to check out the other submissions and to submit your cards, the deadline is Monday!
Again on my card, NO stamping! Scary, I know. But it's so cute. I am loving the new Earth Love collection from Cosmo Cricket!
Supplies Used: Earth Love chipboard letters, Quickutz Stripes Label embossing folder, Kaisercraft Pearls, American Crafts gingham ribbon, Fiskars Threading Water border punch

Identity Crisis! (Friends with Flair Friday)

It's NOT Hip Hop Hangover...and it feels weird!! HOWEVER, it's Friends with Flair Friday, and that feels GREAT!! I made this card for the kit of the month challenge to use the colors purple, orange, black, and green. That of course screams Halloween, so I decided to go with it! I used my Swiss Cheese punch and put holes in the top layers of the papers and then put the purple underneath to show through. On the trees, I tried to sponge a "spooky" sky using London Fog and Summer Sun.
Supplies Used: August KOM, Scenic Route DP, Kraft CS, Purple CS, Scallop Nestabilities, Swiss Cheese edger punch, rhinestones, orange ribbon, Summer Sun Classic SU Ink, Memento Tuxedo Black and London Fog Ink

If somehow you have just happened upon my blog and want to visit the other Friends with Flair blogs, go to Unity's blog for the full list!

P.S. Some of the Unity addicts were using background stamps as a focal point this week for fun. I didn't get a chance to get another card done, but if you want to see the card I made with the very fun NEW Giving It All Meaning and Vintage Ledger background stamps, go to to this blog post.

P.S.S. Coming up in the next week or so, I will have some blog candy to give away. If you are a follower of my blog, you will be entered. So be sure to become a follower BEFORE the give away at your chance to win :)

P.S.S.S. (hehehe) Sorry this post is so long, if you're like me, you didn't read it all, but if you did read it all -- YOU ROCK!

If You're a Church Skipper....

I try to think of creative titles for my posts...because they really are just as important as the post itself, right?! Well, hopefully that title doesn't sound too mean! Jon asked me to make him a bunch of cards that he could send to people from church that haven't been there in awhile. I said, "I'm on it!" Then I saw a set from Our Daily Bread that I liked and said..."I'm on it IF I can buy this set!" hehe, I know how to work the system sometimes! So I made him a set of cards, very simple, but easy to mail and he said he liked them. The inside of the cards say "You've been missed!" and the outside has a various Bible verses. I made a set of 10 for now.Supplies Used: Flourished Christian Symbols (Our Daily Bread Designs), Very Vanilla Cardstock, Threading Water border punch, Scalloped Circles Nestabilities, Labels 3 Nestabilites, Quickutz Nesting Labels, Liquid Pearls, Cosmo Cricket (Girl Friday and Ever After) dp, Bo Bunny dp, Crate Paper dp, and some unknown dp.
