My Blood is too Thin

I grew up in Michigan. Lived there my entire life. I attended college in Illinois. I know what cold is. I know about snow. About 5 years ago, my husband and I packed up and moved to Kansas City so he could go to school. I enjoyed the "not so bad" winters...Some ice and snow now and then. I hated driving there when there was snow or ice on the ground though because Kansas City drivers are well...interesting. One day on the way to work, I saw a man half hanging out of his window scraping his windshield WHILE DRIVING. Point proven.
However, something happened when I moved there. My Michigan blood apparently thinned out a bit. Because now we live in Wisconsin and I am COLD! And tonight, it snowed. I maybe, possibly, almost for sure, cried a little bit. Maybe not on the outside, but on the inside for sure. Last night I told Jon that the clouds looked like "snow clouds." Apparently, I haven't lost my knowledge of snow, just the thick blood that is needed to deal with it. HA! So, to "celebrate" the cold, I have two Christmas cards to share. I used the Hip Hop sketch from Unity Stamps -- even though only one card has a Unity stamp. I am actually lacking in Christmas stamps from Unity.

This card uses Cosmo Cricket's Mitten Weather paper, Taylored Expressions stamp, May Arts ribbon, and the snowflake/flower is actually made with a Quickutz Christmas Tree die.

This one also uses Mitten Weather and May Arts ribbon, Unity Stamps, Nestabilities Label One Die, and Sizzix Dots embossing folder.

Shimmery Fun

I made this card for the Cuttlebug Challenge to use glitter. I used the Snowflakes Cuttlebug folder as the background and then painted Pixie Dust Shimmerz over the whole card. In person it is SO shimmery! The camera had a hard time picking it up, but if you squint and turn your head funny, maybe you can see it. I included a close-up of some of the shimmery goodness though if you don't really want to try that.

And here's another card I made, using the same idea. It uses the Quickutz Christmas tree embossing die. I covered it in Pixie Dust Shimmerz and some really fun Polar White Flower Soft.

Hey Mo! Have you seen Jo?!?

If You're a Church Skipper....

I try to think of creative titles for my posts...because they really are just as important as the post itself, right?! Well, hopefully that title doesn't sound too mean! Jon asked me to make him a bunch of cards that he could send to people from church that haven't been there in awhile. I said, "I'm on it!" Then I saw a set from Our Daily Bread that I liked and said..."I'm on it IF I can buy this set!" hehe, I know how to work the system sometimes! So I made him a set of cards, very simple, but easy to mail and he said he liked them. The inside of the cards say "You've been missed!" and the outside has a various Bible verses. Hey, How's It Hanging!

Welcome to my Hip Hop Hangover post! I'm keeping it short today to make up for my rambling and whining from yesterday! I made this card for a couple's 50th Anniversary. The lady I gave it to thought it said "clove" instead of "love" and was confused...If I use this stamp again, I will probably not ink the full thing. If you stare at it long enough, it DOES become "clove." Swiss Cheese, TV, and Love

What do these 3 things have in common? Well, they are all on this one card, that's what! I created this card for the Moxie Fab World Bag Lady Challenge. This is the bag I used as my inspiration. I was inspired by the colors of the bag -- it made me really want to go to the beach!
I have a hard time with inspiration challenges because I am too much of a "literal" person. If you tell me to be inspired by something, I want to use the same color, texture, and design. So I challenged myself to make this less literal. I picked a stamp that wasn't anything like the design of the bag and simply used the colors of the bag. I think I did okay.
