Retreating....

I'm half excited and half not-excited (un-excited? is that a word?!). Jon and I are going on a Pastor's and spouse retreat today. I'm the spouse, so I get to go!! (<--- that was a sad attempt at being funny!) The "work retreat" part is less then exciting to me... I don't know anybody else there... I don't like strangers! HOWEVER, we are going to Osage Beach/Lake of the Ozarks (in Missouri), where it is beautiful! And the weather is supposed to be perfect!!! So I'm happy for good weather and a beautiful place to go! On another downside, I just got my brand spankin' new, shiny black Big Shot from SU! (yay!!) I also got my April KOTM from Unity....and I want to PLAY!!!!!!!!!! Ahh well, next week I'll be playing.

So have a great weekend all and I'll see ya next week!! Pin It Now!

A Love So Great

"A love so great it held the Son of God on the cross when He could have freed himself with a word…One plea to His Father, and the cross would have crumbled into splinters, and He would have escaped into heaven…But instead He bore the unbearable and died an ugly and horrible death so that we wouldn’t live only a few years, but instead would live forever, with Him, in His kingdom.

That’s how big God’s love is. That’s how much he loves us, every one of us. There isn’t any part of our lives that He doesn’t know about or care about. If you’re ever tempted to think God has forgotten you or simply does not care, remember the cross. That’s how much He cares. How much more proof of His love do you need?"

(I would like to credit the author, but I'm not sure who it is!!)

May we all take a moment to remember the true meaning of Easter while we are enjoying our Easter eggs and candy... if it weren't for a love so great, there would be no reason to celebrate!

Happy Easter,

Katy

Scrappy Happy!!

Every year our family takes a family picture. My mom buys each family a certain color sweater or shirt and we smile (sort of) and she gets her picture. She says it is to document how the kids grow every year. For Jon and I -- it must be to document how much we grow every year! I don't know how much I particularly ENJOY the pictures but I enjoy having the memories and scrapbooking them! So let's get on with it. First, I used Jen Buck's CAS scrapbooking challenge on her blog. I don't like empty spaces on my pages, I'll admit it and I'm not great with one photo layouts. So I thought I'd give this layout a try because I was able to use 3 photos. It might not be exactly CAS, but for me it's pretty close! You can find the sketch for this challenge on her blog.

This page is of my niece, Rebekah. The journaling isn't finished yet, because I need to double check the year before I write it on there!

Supplies Used: Basic Grey Sugared Patterned Paper, Unity Stamps Journal box and beautiful, ribbon and cardstock unknown, Making Memories clear flower and brad.

The second page I made (not with the scrapbook sketch) is our family picture from 2003. I think I managed to do this one using the CAS style and I love how it turned out~simple and sweet! :)

Supplies Used: Bazzil Cardstock, Penny Lane patterned paper, Basic Grey Chipboard stickers, American Crafts ribbon, Unity Stamps Journaling Box
