A Birthday Card and a Little Update

Well, I have lived here in Wisconsin for 2 months...and I've already rearranged my craft room! There are still boxes that aren't unpacked in other rooms of the house...Priorities, you know? :) I had to give up a few things that I liked about the old arrangement, but I like this so much better. I'm not so crowded and everything has a spot where it goes. I don't have to try and work in messiness anymore! But before we get to that, here's a card I made using the CardPatterns Sketch #74. It's a birthday card for my niece.

Supplies Used: Rub-ons (Crate Paper), Patterned Paper (Basic Grey Kraft, Cosmo Cricket Earth Love), Ric-rac (American Crafts), Rhinestones

And here's one picture of my new layout of my craft room. I won't bore you with lots of pictures...today. :)

Also, just a side note. I have listed a bunch of stuff for sale on Splitcoast. Stampin' Up, Unity, Hero Arts, and some odds and ends. Not having a job means I need to clean out the stuff I'm not using. Boo.
Thanks for looking. And now that my room is organized, I should be back to crafting and blogging more.

Going A Little Old School

I needed to make a baby card this week and I don't have a lot of baby stamps (something I should invest in I think!). So I had to go a little old school and pull out two retired Stampin' Up sets. I love the little teddy bear in the set and I'm not sure that I have ever used it before. It is rainy and cloudy here today, so I apologize for these pictures. I will try and get some better ones tomorrow!

Supplies Used: Stamps (SU! Bundle of Joy and Greetings Galore), Cardstock (SU! Very Vanilla), Patterned Paper (Cosmo Cricket Material Girl and Garden Variety), Border Punch (Fiskars Apron Lace), Ribbon (May Arts), Button (SEI), Nestabilities (Scalloped Circle)

Supplies Used: Stamps (SU! Bundle of Joy and Warm Words), Cardstock (Bazzil), Patterned Paper (Cosmo Cricket Girl Friday), Oval card and Scallop (Silhouette), Scalloped Circle (Nestabilities), Ribbon (Pink Pasilee)

And since I'm showing you baby cards, I thought I would show you something I just added to my Artfire store. Awhile back I showed you a rag letter alphabet that I made. Well, I added an item to my store where you can get custom names made like the rag letter alphabet. Check it out. I think it's a cute idea for a baby gift!

A Disappearing Act

Did you notice that I pulled a disappearing act of sorts on my blog? I'm not even really sure what I was doing...but apparently it wasn't blogging! So today I tried to be inspired to make something. I tried a couple of different challenges -- sketches, Basic Grey, and so on. I finally found something that sparked a little bit of creativity. It was the Finding Inspiration in a Layout Challenge from Moxie Fab. Here's what I came up with:

I was inspired by the layout of the patterned paper in the middle and in the leaves with buttons on the corner of the layout.

Supplies Used: Patterned Paper (Basic Grey Nook and Pantry), Rubber Stamps (Unity Burberry Tree, Lizzie Anne Designs Sketched Sentiments), Buttons (SEI), Border Punch (Fiskars Apron Lace)

Hey There....Cupcake?

First card I made for the 2S4Y challenge. I love this cute little frazzled rag doll (at first, I didn't, but she's grown on me!).

Supplies Used: Patterned Paper (Cosmo Cricket Lil' Man), Cardstock (SU! Very Vanilla), Rubber Stamps (Unity Mix Up of Cuteness, Go Ahead...Wish)

The second card is one I made with my Silhouette. I used it to cut out the scalloped circles.

Supplies Used: Patterned Paper (Jillibean Soup Chicken Bouillon), Cardstock (SU! Very Vanilla), Twine, Rubber Stamps (Unity Retro BBQ, Enjoy Your Story)

Playing with the Silhouette

I've had my Silhouette for years. When I purchased it, it came with a gift card for downloads in the store and then they changed things up so they converted it to dollars instead of downloads. Anyway, the last time we moved, I lost the card. Well, guess what I found in this move?? My card! I was so excited, so I downloaded a few things to try out. First I made this oval card.

I used Jillibean Soup paper, SU Cardstock, and a Unity stamp.

This is the inside of the card:

Then I used an extra oval that I cut out and made this card using the CardPatterns sketch.

It also uses Jillibean Soup paper, SU Cardstock, a stamp from Unity, and May Arts ribbon.

I'll have more from my Silhouette tomorrow!

Corner Table and Some Corner Bookmarks

Jon and I were given a gift card to a restaurant and last night we decided to go. First of all, this has nothing to do with the bookmarks, so you may skip reading this part if you like. Secondly, you should understand that we eat at places like Cracker Barrel and McDonalds. Places like Applebees and Red Lobster are our fancy birthday/anniversary places. So, off we went to this restaurant. Here is what we experienced:
  • They put us in our own little "private" room, right next to the, uh, entertainment. (I use the term "entertainment" loosely.) The entertainment was a keyboard/piano/little magic black box with a guy singing (again, I will use the word "singing" loosely).
  • The wall paper was green with huge pink flowers. The ceiling was draped in fabric to match. The lamp on the table was leopard print (are you picturing it?! Pretty, huh?).
  • The food was good
  • A little girl wanted to sing, so the guy attempted to play Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star. However, it wasn't on his little magic black box, so... anyway, the girl was cute. Then the guy was inspired to sing a song to her. The Barney Song (I love you, you love me...). Here was where I made my mistake. I asked Jon if we could go any further downhill then this.
  • Drunk hispanic guy decides he wants to sing with the keyboard guy too. The keyboard guy doesn't speak spanish and can't get the drunk guy to go away. Mostly all I understood was it was his birthday and he wanted to sing.
  • The food was good -- *ETA: I had roasted chicken, mashed potatoes and carrots. Jon had a half rack of ribs, salad, and a baked potato. For dessert (the best part), was a white chocolate cheesecake. (we wanted to use up the gift card! hehe). Sorry for leaving the most important part out! :)
OKAY! So, onto the bookmarks. I made these cute corner bookmarks using the tutorial on Splitcoaststampers. I love how they turned out!
Supplies Used: Patterned Paper (Basic Grey Nook & Pantry), Cardstock, Border Punch (Fiskars Apron Lace), Nestabilites (Labels 4), Ribbon (May Arts), Rubber Stamps (Taylored Expressions Faith & Hope)

Supplies Used: Patterned Paper (Jillibean Soup Old World Cabbage Soup: Caraway Seeds/Diced Tomatoes), Felt Ribbon (May Arts), Cardstock (SU! Very Vanilla), Brad (Making Memories), Border Punch (Fiskars, Threading Water)

P.S. These bookmarks and more are for sale in my ArtFire store!
