Embellish Stitching Challenge

If you follow my blog even a little bit, you know the one I thing I am in love with is stitching! The challenge on the Embellish Magazine blog is to make a card using Light Aqua, Light Pink, and Kraft, and to add stitching. Since I love stitching, I decided to try it.

Supplies Used: Another Sweet Day (Unity Stamp Co.), Faith and Hope (Taylored Expressions), SEI Buttons, Top Note Die, Swiss Dots Embossing Folder, Clear Embossing Powder

A Productive Weekend

I had a nice productive weekend! Well, depending on what you call productive, that is. Vacuum, laundry, sweep and mop, dust...ummm, yeah those things didn't happen. But I got a teeny tiny bit of my creative juices flowing. I finished my alphabet (that I showed you yesterday) and did a couple of challenge cards. So be prepared to be bombarded with blog posts so I can get all of them up! The first one I have to share is for the CardPatterns sketch (I flipped it sideways).

Supplies Used: Love Is Everything (Unity Stamp Co.), Cosmo Cricket Girl Friday PP, SU cardstock, jute, American Crafts Pearl Brads, Cuttlebug Swiss Dots embossing folder, Nestabilities Scalloped and Straight Rectangles

Now I know my ABC's...

I finished my alphabet finally! I'm not sure yet what I'm going to do with them, but it was really good practice for my new sewing machine!

There is a small possibility that I now love fabric as much as patterned paper. I need a second job to pay for all this! :)

Tutti Frutti Challenge

This card is for the Basic Grey Challenge blog to use fruit to inspire your creation. It can be anything from colors, patterned paper, images -- whatever inspires you. I immediately thought of my Basic Grey Lime Rickey paper. The yellows and greens remind me of lemons and limes, and of course the word Lime is right in the name.

Supplies Used: Basic Grey Lime Rickey pp and sticker, Top Note Die, May Arts ribbon, Thinking of You stamp from Sending my Love (Unity Stamp Co.)

Do-Over!

Unity had a scrapbook sketch challenge this week and I decided to play along. However, my first try was...well...not good. Here's my first attempt.
There was just too much blank space left at the top, but it seemed too busy whenever I tried to add something. So I cut the main part out and put it on some different paper and added a little bit...I still don't love it, but I like it a lot better then the first.
So, what do you think? Should I have stuck with the first layout? Or given up and started all over? Or just quit scrapbooking altogether? (Ha! Don't answer that!)

A Special Gift....FOR ME!

Ohhhh yeah, look at this beauty that is now mine! My birthday is coming up in a little bit and my husband's mom asked him what I wanted. He said the only thing he knew of is a sewing machine. So she went to Sears and bought this for me. Apparently they were on sale this weekend and so I got an early birthday present. Now, my mother-in-law does not buy me big extravagant gifts...but apparently you say sewing machine and she gets excited! (For example: one year for Christmas I received a hand blender -- she couldn't put it together and then couldn't get it back in the box, so she didn't want it. The clearance sticker said $5. I'm not complaining about my Christmas gift, just telling you that this is NOT normal.) My first project on my "big" machine is to make the letters that I showed you a few posts down (that my friend Rachel made). I can't wait to show them to you when they are done.
Happy early birthday to ME!!

Basic Grey Fabric?!?

I walked into Archivers the other day, "just to look" of course. There sitting on the table with a bright angelic light shining and a chorus of angels singing was something I had never seen before. Something....heavenly
HA! Okay, so the real story is I walked around Archivers forever and when my husband was starting to get impatient, something caught my eye. Basic Grey fabric! How cool is that? It's called Basic Grey Blush by Moda. And I love it. It matches the Sugared collection (and maybe a few others but I didn't recognize them). I watched a tutorial at stampTV for Paper Quilted cards. I decided to try it with my new fabric instead of paper. I love how these turned out!

Supplies Used: Basic Grey Blush fabric, Basic Grey Sugared chipboard, SU Warm Words, SU Word Window Punch
Supplies Used: Basic Grey Blush fabric, Jillibean Soup journaling sprout, May Arts Felt ribbon, Taylored Expressions Faith & Hope, Making Memories and Spare Parts brads

Mojo-Inducing Eye Candy

So...I don't have much to say or share these days. So I decided to try another post with things I've seen this week that have inspired me to at least want to create. I think a weekly Mojo-Inducing post may be in order!

Okay, first up. Are you on Facebook? If so, you very much need to join the Jillibean Soup fan page. Fans post their creations there and they are incredible. This is not a joke. Go. Now. (and then come back and read the rest of my post, ok?)

Pretty much everything on this blog inspires me, but particularly loving her Spring Is in the Air card. Oh I am ready for spring!

Ryann made a heart full of buttons that I just love!

Jennifer Buck is nothing short of amazing, and her Unity post today is no exception. Check out her adorable scrapbook page if you haven't already.

And last, I have been bitten by a sewing bug. Although I am not so good at it, I am enjoying playing around with my sewing machine. My friend Rachel is very good with her machine and she made this adorable set of Rag Quilt Letters. I so wish I had a little one to make these for!

That's all for today. Hope you enjoyed these projects as much as I did!

Minestrone Soup

I'm not a fan of actual Minestrone soup or zucchini (the kind of you eat!)... However, I love the Thin Zucchini paper from the Minestrone collection from Jillibean Soup -- that's something I can say YUM to! I played along with the sketch over at their blog. I haven't made a scrapbook page in forever. I was a little rusty, but I really liked the end result! Sorry the picture isn't the greatest, I haven't gotten the hang of photographing scrapbook pages yet!
Supplies Used: Core'dinations, Jillibean Soup, Ippity, Making Memories Acrylic Paint, Shimmerz, brads

HELLOOOO??? Is Anybody Home?!

Have you been wondering where I'm at??? I just looked at my blog and I can't believe I haven't posted since March 1st! I don't have anything crafty of my own to share with you today (can you believe I haven't even made anything since March 1st? Yikes), so I thought instead I would show you some of my favorite things I've seen.

These mini cards from Tanis are so super cute and use some of my favorite Cosmo Cricket Material Girl

A card from Alex that is so sparkly

I don't own any perfect pearls, but after seeing this card by Lucy, I want some

I only wish I could make something as cute as this baby gift set that Kryssi made

So is there anything out there I need to look at that I'm missing? I need inspiration!

Animal Love

Okay, to be honest with you, I am not an animal lover. I don't lovingly welcome dogs, cats, gerbils, birds, snakes, or any other kind of furry, feathery, or scaly thing into my home. There is a cat that has been living under my porch. It's taking care of a mice problem I had in the garage, so I try to give it milk...it doesn't seem to like it. I even went as far as to name it -- "Cat". Creative, I know. However, I do love my cute little animals on my paper and stamps. And how cute are these?!

Sorry this is blurry. It says, "See you made it through another year without croaking!"
Frog Card: Jillibean Soup (White Bean: Cold Water), Unity Stamp Co. (Sweet Affections), Swiss Dots embossing folder, Core'dinations and Gina K. cardstock, May Arts ribbon
Frog Card Inside: Scalloped and Regular Nestabilities, Penny Black Stamp
Owl Card: DCWV (The Green Stack), Gina K Cardstock, Corrugated Kraft Alphas (Jillibean Soup), jute twine, Scor-Pal (to emboss lines on PP)
