Happy First Day of School!

I know in a lot of places, school has already started. However, around here they don't start until this week. I was asked to make a first day of kindergarten card for a grandma to give to her grandchildren (how sweet is that?!). I wasn't quite sure how I wanted to make it, so I looked in the SCS gallery for inspiration. I found this card and loved it. So this is my version of the card. I absolutely love how it turned out!

This card is a lot more detailed then I usually make. I masked the school house and put the little trees behind it. Then I colored and cut out the scene that I created.

Summertime Foods and Camping

Splitcoast hosted a VSN over the weekend. VSN stands for Virtual Stamp Night (although it's generally a weekend), and challenges are posted every hour for you to play along. The catch is that you only have 45 minutes to finish each card. For somebody like me who is sloooooow, that's a challenge. Here's the first card I made. It was to be inspired by food in the summertime. I love to have barbecue's in the summer, so I made this card.

The second challenge that I did was to be inspired by camping. Well, you should know -- I hate camping. To me, roughing it would be a Holiday Inn. I also don't feel like something that's used as a table during the day should be a bed at night. But I know there are tons of "crazies" out there that enjoy this activity. ;) So here is my card inspired by this crazy thing called camping.

You're One of My Nicest Thoughts

Here's a card I made just because. I really like the emboss resist technique on glossy paper.

I embossed the butterflies with clear embossing powder from SU! and then sponged ink over the glossy cardstock. I cut out the butterfly 3 times and glued the middle down to the card and added pearls.
Hope everybody had a great weekend!

Norm's News

I had a piece of October Afternoon paper that I figured it was about time to use (called Norm's News). So I made two cards with it. The first one is for the CardPatterns Sketch #78

The second card is just with some leftovers I had laying around.

So, I have a little computer update for you. I was using my "back-up" laptop and getting used to it...when I tripped over the cord and it took a fall. It landed on nice soft carpet...I thought it would be okay. It wasn't. It really, really wasn't. So I bought a USB wifi connector, and for now it's working. Yea! So my posts *should* be more regular again (although every time I say that, something happens!) :)

FWF/Addicts Challenge

My card today is from the Unity Addicts challenge, to make a black and white card with a pop of color. I'll keep my post nice and short today. My creativity has apparently gone on vacation (and forgot to take me with it!).

I used the Unity stamps Giving It All Meaning and Sending My Love.
