Rockin' the Kraft!

I have a new-found love for Kraft cardstock. I love making clean and simple cards using it. I had been hooked on using Very Vanilla cardstock as my base (and still do quite often), but as of lately, I have been LOVING the kraft. I think it just makes a simple card POP! So here's a few simple cards I made with Kraft cardstock. What do you think: love kraft or hate it?

Supplies Used: Kraft Cardstock (SU!), Wheat Cardstock (American Crafts), Creamy Caramel Cardstock (SU!)My Heart Sings (Unity Stamps), Ribbon (SU!, American Crafts), Kaiser Pearls, Swiss Dots Cuttlebug Folder, Circle Punch, Creamy Caramel and Chocolate Chip (SU! All Glittered Up!

One thing you should know about me...I don't love glitter, stickles, and sparkle. Don't get me wrong, now. I love it on YOUR cards, YOU can rock it, YOU can make it work, YOU don't smear it just by looking at it. I on the other hand, can NOT rock it, I can NOT make it work, and I CAN indeed smear it merely by glancing at it. So the fact that I made not one, but TWO cards this weekend with glitter is beyond amazing! Both cards are from VSN (Virtual Stamp Night) Challenges over at SCS.

Card 1: The challenge was to make a card inspired by food. I used this glitter willingly!Supplies Used: DCWV DP, SU! Very Vanilla Cardstock, SU! Chocolate Chip Classic Ink, Scalloped Circles Nestabilities, Daisy D's Ric-Rac Rub On's, American Crafts Ribbon, Simple Pleasures Unity Stamp Set, Doodlebug glitter

Card 2: We had to make a card using glitter on a full panel. This was messy....VERY messy. The card is very sparkly and I like it though! (SHHH! Don't tell!)

Supplies Used: SU! Basic Black Classic Ink, Doodlebug glitter, Spare Parts Ribbon and brad, Daisy D's rub on stitches, Imaginisce DP, Very Vanilla Cardstock, Black Cardstock, Fresh Beginnings (April KOTM), Love, etc (Jan. KOTM) from Unity Stamps

Check back this week for more VSN Challenge Cards!

A "Special" Challenge

So, the peeps over in the Unity Friends forum on Splitcoast left me and Shannon alone yesterday morning. We have TRIED to warn them that we are a dangerous duo, but you know the old adage, you can lead a horse to water, but you can't make it drink. So Shannon and I came up with the "You Shouldn't Have Left us Alone" challenge (or YSHLUA for short). Here's the challenge:
You have to use the KOM DT challenge sketch -- can be viewed here -- http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/fo...d.php?t=435082
Teal and Kraft colors - black and white are also ok....in limited amounts....
5 layers only - no more, no less
5 buttons
must use decorative scissors
No ribbon
No Stickles
Must use at least one sticker

So without further ado, here's my card:I flipped the sketch and changed it a little. Shannon and I aren't strict or anything, just have fun!

Supplies Used: April KOM (Unity), Kraft and Very Vanilla Cardstock, Patterned Paper (not sure what kind!), Tempting Turquoise Ink, Postage Stamp decorative scissors, button sticker (Basic Grey), Prima flowers, Swiss Dots embossing die, fibers, brads

It's Been Awhile, But HHH Is Back!

I've been making some cards for the Unity Birthday Challenge and thought they would be perfect to share with you for HHH! I LOVED the One Layer Birthday card challenge, which really surprised me, but I made two (very similar) cards!
I like how my card turned out, but I wish I had a tiny little stamp to say "Over the Hill" since that was the intent of the card. I think that the stamp of the hill is self-explanatory enough though.
Stamps: Birthday Chic, Nov. KOTM
Paper: Core'dinations Cardstock
Ink: White
Accessories: Prima Flowers, Ribbon, word window punch, swiss dots

Stamps: April KOTM
Paper: Kraft
Ink: chocolate chip, antique linen distress ink
Accessories: ribbon, kaiser pearls (pewter)
