The Card that Took FOR-EVER

This was just one of those cards where nothing seemed to go right. I really liked how the paper pieced mom and baby turned out. I also liked the scallop on the side. But I just couldn't figure out how to finish it off. I wish that I would have left the sentiment on the bottom completely off and just put something on the inside of the card. Without the sentiment, it just looked unfinished to me. But in the end, it probably did look better without it. Sometimes, I tend to overthink things. Then I had an awful time getting a good picture of the card. It was cloudy and overcast all day and the textured cardstock didn't seem to photograph well either. I finally gave up and I've done my best to edit it so it looks...well at least viewable, I guess.

Surprise, surprise, another baby card, right?? :) (Nope, still not hinting at anything!)

Hope everybody is having a great week!

Computer Problems!

I've been having some problems with my computer lately, which has stopped me from posting anything. The wireless card in my laptop just up and quit working. Grrr. Tech support says that they are aware of the problem with that model of laptop, and it would cost $250 to fix it (the laptop was only $300). Grrr (again). So I have to be connected to the dsl modem now to do anything online (which, of course, is in another room and there's nowhere in my craft room to plug it in at). So, I have an old laptop that takes me about an hour to upload and create blog posts on...which means my posting will be sporadic at best until I figure something out! Anyway, after a lot of frustration, I finally have this blog post done!
Here is the card I created for the Limelight sketch challenge.
Hopefully I will have another post for you soon!

Somebody's Got Baby on the Brain

Have you noticed an abundance of baby cards on my blog lately?? Well, don't worry, I'm not announcing or hinting at anything. Just seems like everybody (except for me, of course) is having a baby! I cased this one from Carly. I just changed the direction of the card and the colors. It's simple and sweet.

Happy Sequential Day!

Happy 8/9/10 to you all!

I have a CAS (clean & simple) card to share today. It uses the Yummy stamp set from Stampin' Up (which I think is now retired?).

Jon's family is vacationing in the Wisconsin Dells, which isn't too far from us, so we are going to play mini golf and have dinner with them tonight. (No cooking, yay!) Summer is starting to wind down. I think I'm ready for fall (but not winter. I will never be ready for winter). Have a great day!

CardPatterns Sketch #76...x2

I made two different cards for the CardPatterns current sketch. The first one is a square 5 1/4" card. I need to make a baby card for somebody, but after I finished this one I realized it's more appropriate for a little boy, and I need to make one for a little girl. I think if I swapped out the brown for a pink or yellow, it would make a cute girl card.

Supplies Used: Rubber Stamps (Stampin' Up Bundle of Joy, Stampin' Up Warm Words), Cardstock (Bazzil, Stampin' Up), Patterned Paper (Basic Grey Kraft collection, Jillibean Soup), Accessories (Fiskars Apron Lace Border Punch, Making Memories brad, Nestabilities scalloped circles, lace, buttons)

The second card is a standard A2 size card, but I still used the CardPatterns sketch.

Supplies Used: Rubber Stamps (Unity Stamp Co. Stuck on You), Cardstock (Jillibean Soup kraft, Stampin' Up Very Vanilla), Patterned Paper (Cosmo Cricket Girl Friday), Ribbon (American Crafts), Accessories (Basic Grey rhinestones, Martha Stewart Scallop Punch, sewing machine)
