Nicole Pie! (&FWF)

This weekend is my niece Nicole's 8th birthday party. How in the world she got so old, I don't know!! I gave her a nickname when she was little -- "Nicole Pie." Awhile ago, she took a picture of herself sitting in a pie pan and had her mom send it to me. So I framed it and I'm going to give it to her for her birthday.

And here's the card I made for her, using the Limelight sketch challenge.
I used Cosmo Cricket Material Girl and Joy Ride patterned paper. The pie stamp in the frame is from the Hodge Podge of Happiness set. The card uses Mix Up of Cuteness and the Happy Birthday is from Ippity's Life's Little Moments set.

Thinking of You...and SMILING! :)

I made this card using the CPS card sketch. It was due at 8:00pm. So, yeah, I'm a little late getting it posted (I blame my husband). But I really like how it turned out, so I wanted to share it anyway. I struggle with masculine cards. When I made this one, I wasn't even trying to make one, but it turned out great for a card for a guy.
Supplies Used: Jillibean Soup kraft cardstock, Cornish Heritage Farms Grid Paper background, Unity Stamps Confession: I Luv Unity!, Unity Stamps Sweet Affections, SEI buttons

A Friends with Flair Post

Happy Friday! I am finally joining in Friends with Flair for the first time in forever! It's nice to be crafting again.
Right now, things aren't normal here. Not having a job is throwing me off. Every morning I wake up and ask Jon what day of the week it is. He tells me. And then throughout the day, he repeatedly has to tell me. So, I HOPE I'm posting this on the right day! I used CardPatterns sketch #68 for my card.
Supplies Used: Cosmo Cricket Garden Variety, Tim Holtz Scalloped Edge, Unity Bevy of Butterflies, SEI button, crocheted lace ribbon

Some Father's Day Card Creations

I started a little card shop this past week (you can see it here). One of my friends requested some Father's Day cards, so I got right on it (ahhh, the joys of unemployment!). Well, I felt that this would be the perfect opportunity to go check out the local scrapbook store that is here (The Memory Bank). I figured out quickly that if you want to buy stamps for a special holiday, you better not wait until the last minute -- they were out of most "Father's Day" stuff. So, after working my way around the store twice, I decided to bite the bullet...that's right, I bought clear stamps. I love the look of the stamps, but had a horrible time getting a good image (I did run an eraser over the stamp first before I inked it, but it didn't seem to help). However, as many of you know, the good thing about clear is that you can see where you stamped and "fix" the image. So here are a few cards I made:

This is the first one I made. Jon was disappointed that I sold it, so I made another one for him to send to his dad that is somewhat similar.

The stamp set is from Tim Holtz and is called The Journey.

The next two I made using some Soft Spoken stickers.

So....This Is My Space

So, here's my new crafting space. It's not all unpacked yet. It's cramped. I have TOO MUCH STUFF (and yes, indeed I did go to the local scrapbook store yesterday. And yes, I did buy something. Anybody else see a problem with this?!). I do not work well in messiness. I am one of those crafters who cleans up while I craft and completely cleans the table before starting the next project. That's not so feasible here.

Oh well. On to the card. This is a CAS card, but I really like how it turned out.
The leave stamp is from Teresa Collins and is actually a foam stamp. The sentiment is from Unity's April store kit (I just left the "sew" part off.)

HEY-O!

Look! Look! I got my room put together enough that I could make a card. Yeah! And I am also entering it into the caardvarks challenge to make a card with embossing (wet or dry).
Supplies Used: SU! Very Vanilla cardstock (I know the picture makes it look white, but it's vanilla), Unity Stamps (Sept. kotm), crochet ribbon, Swiss Dots and Stylized Flowers Cuttlebug embossing folders

Checking In!

So, I'm here in Wisconsin now. Lost in a sea of boxes and coming up for air once in awhile. It's beautiful here...so I'm trying to enjoy the beauty and not think about the winter. (I don't like snow!). My craft room is full of boxes and isn't even close to being put together. But here's a picture of my new house.
Our cell phone coverage here is spotty, our home phone isn't working correctly, and we only get 5 tv channels (and a whole bunch of shopping channels). We just got the internet working correctly today, so I'm starting to feel a little more connected to the world again.

Time to get back to those boxes I guess!
