Recipes...

Do your recipes look as bad as mine? All piled up in a heap? Crusty and gross from sitting on the counter? They were driving me a little crazy (some may say that I'm OCD. It's not true. I'm just particular. There's a difference. I think.) So I decided to do something about it. I have been working on a recipe book. I am making the pages 8x8 and printing out the recipe. Then in true scrapbooker style -- adding a little patterned paper and embellishment. Now these should be a little more organized and kept a little cleaner. Only problem is that I haven't been able to find an 8x8 scrapbook with rings. So here's one of my favorite recipes. Chicken Parmigiana for 2.
Supplies Used: Comso Cricket (Garden Variety), May Arts ribbon

If A Big Semi Truck Ran Me Over...

I wonder if this is what it would feel like??? Pounding headache, nauseous, and every bone in my body hurts. Ack! I know what's wrong, and don't worry it's not contagious, so you can stay on my blog, I SWEAR! I tried eating breakfast, but could barely keep it down. I am so hungry and yet so not hungry all at the same time -- how does THAT happen?! (I should mention, that I'm NOT pregnant...I know that is the first thing that came to your mind. I WISH I were pregnant...but I am SO not...) Okay, I know you don't come to my blog to read about my problems, so I'm moving on. No more whining from me. Promise. :) I have a two page layout to share with you today. I don't love it, but I'm not gonna whine. This is another layout of my adorable niece Rebekah. I miss my nieces and nephews so much. I haven't seen them since November! But again, I'm so NOT whining.Supplies Used: Distressed Dots, Another Sweet Day (May KOM), Little Me, This Is the Time (Large and Mini), A Pocket Full of...(July KOM), Coredinations Cardstock (ROYGBIV Collection), Prima DP, Memento Rose Bud Ink, VersaMagic Red Brick Ink, Chloe's Closet Cardstock Stickers (Making Memories), American Crafts Ribbon, Basic Grey Chipboard Letters, MME Rub-on, October Afternoon arrow sticker

Don't you wish you could still lick frosting off your elbow?? TRY IT! Let me know how it works out. Frosting is good. Licking frosting is better. Licking frosting off your elbow -- the best.

Scrap and Stamp: Embossing

Here is my scrapbook page for the challenge at the Scrap and Stamp blog. The challenge was to emboss on the layout. I used the Spots and Dots Cuttlebug embossing folder for the mat behind the photo. I also used some scrapbook paper that had a little embossing on it.
Supplies Used: 12 Months of Goodness Journal box, July kotm, American Crafts Foil Paper, American Crafts gingham ribbon, Chloe's Closet (Making Memories) canvas stickers, Spots and Dots embossing folder
And here is a close up of the embossing on the mat:

The Rest of the Story...

These are the last pages of the book. 3 years is a little bit much for so few pages, I know! I hope he loves it anyway!

Things I Love: watching Tom & Jerry, pudding, cake and the color black, my doggy, swimming and swinging. I asked my sister to ask him what his favorite food, color, and tv show is. These were his answers (and I threw in a few that I knew he loved). According to my sister, he had just finished eating pudding, and was probably not his favorite food. OH well! He can still love it, right?? Supplies: November, June and July kit of the month (Unity), Little Me (Unity), SEI butons, Bevy of Butterflies, Rhinestones
Two page family layout: Alphabet Sassy, Fun Filler Borders, July KOTM (all Unity), SEI buttons, stickles

Thanks so much for looking at my book with me. I'm so happy it's done and overall happy with the results!

Hippity Hop!!

About 6 years ago, I started a tradition. I made a scrapbook for each one of my nieces and nephews with a theme. I did two alphabet books, a number book, and a color book. So my littlest nephew is the only one I have left and he has anxiously been awaiting his book. I started it 3 years ago. Last night I finished it!! I have lots of excuses why it took so long but IT'S FINISHED!!! And it will only be a few days late getting to him for his birthday present! I'm going to share just a few pages today, since not all the pages have Unity on them. But I'll be sharing the whole book throughout the next few days so be sure to stop back by! The theme of the book is "All About You." Supplies Used: enjoy your story (Nov. Kit of the Month), Confession: I {luv} Unity, textured cardstock (brand unknown), Making Memories ribbon, dewdrops, Tuxedo Black ink

This is the last page in the book. Isn't he so sweet!Supplies Used: Confession: I {luv} Unity, another sweet day! (May Kit of the Month), Fresh Beginnings (April Kit of the Month), Rhinestones, Tuxedo Black ink

Can I get a HIP HOP (hangover)?!

I DID it! I participated in a Hip Hop challenge for the first time in ages. I hope you're not tired of my layouts, because here's another! I'm not sure I'm sold on it...but it's good enough! The challenge was to use kraft or a form of kraft.
Supplies Used: love, etc. (Jan. Unity KOTM), Coredinations Vintage Cardstock, Bo Bunny DP, Brocade Blue and Chocolate Chip Classic SU Ink, My Mind's Eye tags and rubon, October Afternoon rub on, basic grey chipboard, gel stitches Pin It Now!

Best Friends

I did this layout for the Limelight Sketch Challenge. We had to use the sketch and also bling it up with rhinestones. I went one step further and added Stickles! This is the second time this week I've used them...See,they are growing on me!! The sketch from Limelight just screamed "LAYOUT!!!" to me, so that's what I did. These are two of my nieces -- aren't they sweet?!

Supplies Used: love, etc (Jan. KOTM), Little Me, fresh beginnings (April KOTM) -- All Stamps are from Unity Stamp Co., Coredinations Nostalgia cardstock, Basic Grey DP and chipboard stickers, rhinestones, stickles, Primas, Fiskars Eyelet Lace Embossing Border Punch (say THAT 10 times fast!)

Two Peas in a Pod

I made a layout just for me...it wasn't for a challenge or from a sketch. I CAN do it! The chipboard on this layout is covered with Creamy Caramel ink and then I stamped the words "Sweet Pea" and the image of the pea pod on them. You can't see it very well in the picture. I need to take a close up picture, but trust me, it's very cute! :)

Supplies Used: Little Me (Unity Stamp Co.), Basic Grey Chipboard, Bo Bunny Patterned Paper, Coredinations Nostalgia Cardstock, American Crafts Gingham Ribbon, Spare Parts Grommets, Creamy Caramel and Glorious Green Classic SU Ink.

More Clean and Simple

I needed some inspiration last night to get a scrapbook page done. Nothing was coming to me and I was getting tired of sitting and staring at an empty table. I have loved Jenn Buck's Clean and Simple scrapbook challenges, but haven't participated much, so I decided to go back and use an old sketch of hers (I had already used this week's on the last layout I shared!). Check out all of her sketches here. I used #5. Notice it's not a perfect copy, just a starting point to get me going!
Supplies Used: Sassy Alphabet (Unity Stamp Co), Vintage Coredinations Cardstock, Martha Stewart Ribbon, Bo Bunny Journaling Block and Patterned Paper, Buttons, Stickles (YUP! STICKLES!) Pin It Now!

Clean, Simple, and Monochromatic

Last night I had a bright idea about 9:00. I was going to combine two challenges -- one was a clean and simple scrapbook challenge sketch and the other was to make something monochromatic for a guest spot on the design team for Unity Stamp Co. 9:00 is really late for me to GET an idea, especially since I had to be up bright and early today! But I decided to go ahead and put my page together. As it started coming together, I LOVED it....but then, I took a wrong turn down Scrapbook Lane and bam! At 11:30 I had to call it quits and post it. I stewed about it all night though -- and maybe I'll go back and fix it.

This is my sweet nephew, William. Isn't he a cutie?! I'm also having a terrible time with my camera and Photoshop. For some reason, I edit the photo and it looks great, I upload it and it gets all distorted and blurry. I haven't figured it out yet, but I will...just not at 11:30 at night :)
Supplies Used: another sweet day (Unity May Kit of the Month) Coredinations Vintage Cardstock, American Crafts DP, Basic Grey DP, Chocolate Chip Classic Ink, Making Memories Ribbon, Brads Pin It Now!

More Family Pictures!!

I hope you're not tired of family pictures because I've still got a lot to catch up on! This layout is one of my favorites I've done so far. It looks a little plain, but I think that is A.O.K.!!
Supplies: Burberry Tree (Unity Stamp Co), Scalloped Circle and Light Blue textured cardstock (generic brands??), buttons (Walmart brand), Basic Black Ink (SU!)

Scrappy Happy!!

Every year our family takes a family picture. My mom buys each family a certain color sweater or shirt and we smile (sort of) and she gets her picture. She says it is to document how the kids grow every year. For Jon and I -- it must be to document how much we grow every year! I don't know how much I particularly ENJOY the pictures but I enjoy having the memories and scrapbooking them! So let's get on with it. First, I used Jen Buck's CAS scrapbooking challenge on her blog. I don't like empty spaces on my pages, I'll admit it and I'm not great with one photo layouts. So I thought I'd give this layout a try because I was able to use 3 photos. It might not be exactly CAS, but for me it's pretty close! You can find the sketch for this challenge on her blog.

This page is of my niece, Rebekah. The journaling isn't finished yet, because I need to double check the year before I write it on there!

Supplies Used: Basic Grey Sugared Patterned Paper, Unity Stamps Journal box and beautiful, ribbon and cardstock unknown, Making Memories clear flower and brad.

The second page I made (not with the scrapbook sketch) is our family picture from 2003. I think I managed to do this one using the CAS style and I love how it turned out~simple and sweet! :)

I'm So Back!!

Did you miss me??? You probably didn't even notice I was gone! :) I went to the doctor like I said I would...It is taking FOREVER to get over this sinus/ear infection, but today I felt pretty good. I'm really hoping that this time I keep feeling better! Well, I still haven't done much but I still have every intention of getting back on that wagon! Until then, here are a few projects to share. The first is a onesie I stamped. I actually stamped two of them, but only remembered to take a picture of one before I gave it away. Bummer! This uses the Cupcakes a'la Yummy from Unity Stamps (I think it is now in the set called Mix Up of Cuteness.) I used ColorBox Chalk Ink, Warm Red.
I also have two scrapbook pages to share.
Supplies Used:
Paper from Penny Lane (LOVE this paper!!) and I matted the photos on pp from Crate Paper (more awesome paper!!)
Heart border is Just the Edge Cardstock strips from Bazzill (Aqua)
Chipboard letters are Basic Grey Euphoria
Stamps are all from Unity Stamps. They came from a lot of different sets!
Celebrate the simple life, love has no boundaries, and laugh are all from a grab bag that I purchased so I don't know the sets they are from.
simplicity is from Gratitude=Joy
so much! is from Thanks 2 You Kit
happy is from Endings and Beginnings
sweet thing is from Cupcakes a'la Yummy
good times is from Thinking About the Good Times
Laugh and delightful are from Enjoy Your Story
Whew!!! I used a lot of stamps! :)
Here's a close up of the top of the page. Love this chipboard!!
And the second page (are ya bored yet?!) is also of my sweetie :)
Supplies Used:
Crate Paper
Big Scallop is from Archivers
Ribbon is District from SU!
Flower is Spare Parts (Hobby Lobby)
I think the journal box is also from Crate Paper
Love is from Friendship. Love. Miracles (Unity)
Flower stamp is from Enjoy Your Story (Unity)
My Sweetie is from the grab bag mentioned above

And here is a close up -- I really like the flowers around the scallop, turned out so cute! Sometimes the best way to remind yourself of how much you love your sweetie is to scrap about it! Pin It Now!

His Holy Name -- Righteous

Here is my page for the name Righteous. The verse I chose was Psalm 36:6— Your righteousness is like the mighty mountains, Your justice like the ocean depths. You care for people and animals alike (NLT).
Supplies Used:
Flower stamp is from Unity's November Kit of the Month. I believe it is now available as a single called Flowers from Neverland.
The paper is Basic Grey Mellow, and Very Vanilla from SU. The chipboard is also from Basic Grey, called Hip. I used Chocolate Chip, Only Orange, and Garden Green ink from SU. And the ribbon is from American Crafts.

Third Day sings a song called "Your Love, O Lord" and it comes from this Psalm. Here is a link to the video on you tube. It's a good song! Pin It Now!

H to the 3rd Power!

That's right, it's Hip Hop Hangover!! And in honor of the 3 H's, I have 3 pages to share! I finally started Patter's His Holy Name Challenge. I have been wanting to do it for awhile now, but just never made the time! So Monday I sat myself down and did it! I'm trying to watch my spending, so I looked around for something to put my pages in and found a cute photo album that I got for Christmas and thought it would be perfect... That's what I get for thinking while having a fever and being medicated! The pages are too small!!! They are 4x6. But it's okay, I'm sticking with it! And if I need to make two page layouts, then that's what I will do.

HOLY

Verse: You must be holy because I, the LORD, am holy. I have set you apart from all other people to be my very own. Leviticus 20:26(NLT)

I used the Almighty God stamp from the September Kit of the Month, but I just colored the words Holy One and stamped that.

Ribbon is from American Crafts, paper is Basic Grey Mellow collection, and I used the Top Note die from SU.

SOVEREIGN

Verse: The Sovereign LORD is my strength! He makes me as surefooted as a deer, able to tread upon the heights. Habakkuk 3:19(NLT)

Stamps: Alphabet Appeal (SU!), Deer from November Kit of the Month
Paper is from Basic Grey. Not sure where the journal card is from...maybe My Mind's Eye.

PROTECTOR

Verse: God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Psalm 46:1

On the journal card I listed other names for Protector: Advocate, Backer, Savior, Defender, Safeguard, Supporter, Shield, Bulwark, Champion, Guardian

Stamps: Thanks to You! (Unity)
Paper is Basic Grey Mellow collection, journal card is from My Mind's Eye, ribbon is American crafts. I cut out the word "protector" using my Silhouette (which by the way, has a new update where it will weld the word. VERY exciting!!) Brads are from Spare Parts (Hobby Lobby brand). Ticket Corner and Slot Punch (SU!) Pin It Now!
